At Ballet Kalamazoo, we nurture every child’s love for dance in a warm, joyful, and uplifting environment. Our children's ballet program welcomes dancers as young as age 3 and introduces them to the magic of movement through creativity, kindness, and play. Along the way, they’ll build a strong foundation in classical ballet, learning focus, discipline, and teamwork all while having fun and making friends.

For students with a deep passion for ballet, we offer advanced training through our Conservatory Ballet Program and the Kalamazoo Youth Ballet a dedicated performance troupe for dancers ready to take the next step in their artistic journey. Each December, our dancers light up the stage in The Nutcracker Kalamazoo our original take on the beloved holiday tradition, inspired by the spirit of our own city. Join us this season at Comstock Community Auditorium, December 6–7, 2025, featuring professional guest artists and magical roles for dancers of all ages.

In the spring, we return to the world of fairy tales with our annual children’s ballet production. Coming in 2026: Rapunzel ~ A Fairy Tale Ballet, on May 16–17, a whimsical adventure your family won’t want to miss.

​

We are thrilled to welcome you to the second season of our newest performance tradition: KAL|Dance — Ballet Kalamazoo’s annual celebration of movement, collaboration, and creative expression.

​

This mixed bill performance brings together the elegance of classical ballet, the bold spirit of contemporary dance, and the incredible talent of Kalamazoo’s vibrant arts community all on one stage.

​

This year’s theme, Fragments of Light, illuminates the beauty found at the intersection of tradition and innovation — where music, movement, and shared artistry reflect and reveal the creative spark in each dancer.

​

KAL|Dance features original works choreographed by Ballet Kalamazoo faculty and special guest artists, with appearances by local dance collaborators and live musicians. It is a unique opportunity for our most dedicated dancers to expand their artistic voices, connect across disciplines, and perform alongside professionals in a dynamic, professional setting.
